I have been working with children for more than 20 years, as a tutor and mentor. My profession and academic education was in business and psychology, but my passion has always been working with children. For the last 7 years, I have worked as a substitute teacher, for Lee County Schools. And for the last 5 years, I have spent my summer months traveling throughout SE Asia, volunteering time in orphanages and schools, teaching the children English.
My teaching style totally depends on the student(s) that I am working with. Not all children learn at the same pace, nor do they all have the same attention span. That said, I find that applying the “token economy” approach, in getting the children to focus on the task, is very effective. If given time and patience, children are capable of accomplishing most anything.

I am doing a career change to teaching. I have been hired as football coach at Estero High School, I will be working as a teacher this fall 2009. I have been fingerprinted by Lee County School and I am cleared to be employed. I have a son that is 8 years old I help with his home work every night. Last year in the second grade they wanted him to stay back, I said I would help him. This year in second grade he is making E & S Honor Roll.
