I hold a MS degree in Educational Administration and a BS degree in English and have taught 26 years of high school, primarily seniors. In addition to classroom teaching, I have taught numerous ACT prep classes evenings and was a tutor for Sylvan Learning Center. At the present, I currently teach a writing and a literature class at University Center in Sioux Falls. In addition, I have been tutoring several high school students in writing and English.

Children tend to respond to someone who is fun and friendly, instead of a person who chooses not to connect with students in this way. I am very passionate about learning and teaching what I have learned to others. I think if you can get a child interested in a subject he or she will be more willing to learn and enjoy his or her work more because he or she is personally benefiting from it. I am committed to a students growth as a person as a result of learning and feel that a good instructor is a key to that student's success.
I have volunteered for both summer camps (at local science museum) and at vacation bible school programs. I worked at a daycare for 2 years working with a 2 year old class, then worked as a preschool teacher for another year and a half. I have also ... read more
