I enjoy teaching high schoolers for a variety of reasons. Mostly because of how honest I can be with them. My teaching style is based on the belief that children perform well academically when given an opportunity to learn in their own unique way. In particular, I have worked with students with receptive-language difficulties, ADHD, and oppositional behavior. In my teaching, I have tried to implement techniques that involve repetition, visual cues, and creativity to enhance students' academic performance. I have been involved with education for seven years now. I started by working as a paraprofessional in the special education program at Oyster River High School.
