In teaching I am basically a generalist and humanist. My background is in mathematics and the sciences, but with a solid foundation in the humanities. I pride myself on being a very patient, caring person and love seeing children learn and have their eyes opened as to the possibilities that are there for them. I enjoy helping children learn and seeing the light come on for them as they gain understanding and knowledge. My children are grown and I am looking for a way to help younger ones learn, as I have helped my own children learn and grow to their full potential. I have spent 12 years volunteering as a tutor at the elementary school level. I have helped students in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
