I absolutely love to write. I've been a professional tutor throughout the entirety of my collegiate marathon--a lengthy 5.5 years--and have worked with a variety of different students on thousands of diverse papers. From poetry to journalism, research to flash-fiction, there isn't anything I don't love to work on. A lot of students ask, 'Where do I begin?' For most of them this is the scariest question--the resistance that keeps them from getting started. For me, this is the most exciting question, the stage where the possibilities are endless and opportunities are waiting to unfold. With more than 15 years' experience as a newspaper reporter, I have served on the staffs of local and niche newspapers. I have literally covered everything under the sun, ranging from covering a draft horse competition to writing a feature about a former Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon member. In my spare time, I write freelance articles for national trade publications and design jewelry. I've been designing jewelry for nearly as long as I've been writing. I don't use patterns and I don't copy someone else's work. A lot of my work has been featured in several popular jewelry-making magazines, I've sold at local, regional and national juried art shows and museum shops, and even was featured on an HGTV "That's Clever!" segment.
