I like to teach all age levels. I try to teach in a way that allows them to learn best. Every student has their own way of learning, some are more visual while others are more text driven. I feel that educators play an important role in helping students figure out how to learn best and motivate them to want to continue learning more. I am very patient and understanding, which are also key elements for a child to feel comfortable to learn. I have always had a love for science, which prompted me to pursue a BS in biology and MS in microbiology. While doing so, I was able to acquire experience instructing biology labs for undergraduate students. My preferred style of teaching is student-lead. I believe in the Socratic method, but appreciate following a curriculum, as well. I volunteer at a Montessori school and I know that getting learners of all ages interested and excited about a topic is the key to retention.
