As a TFA teacher, I have undergone intensive training that focuses on backwards planning and results based accountability. In the past year I have taught fourth and fifth grade subjects including: writing, science, social studies, fine arts, and technology. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked with teens in crisis. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe all students have the ability to succeed. In my experience, the most important thing to remember is that all students learn differently, and sometimes what seems like an impossible task just needs to be presented differently for better understanding. Relating the material to situations and applications that are relevant and familiar to that particular student is a much more productive and beneficial way to have students retain information. I try very diligently to make each learning experience count and have students enjoy the learning process.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have eight years experience teaching Math at Lyndon State College in Vermont and at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio. I was also a writing tutor at The Writing Center at Lyndon State. In addition, I tutored students there in English,Math,and Economics for a program called Project Excel. I also attended tutor training sessions as part of that job. Additionally, I tutored college students privately while earning my degree at The University of Rhode Island. As a full-time instructor at Lorain, I was required to schedule 10 office hours per week to be available to students, so I gained a lot more experience in the tutoring process during that time.
