A Little Bit About Me...

I like to make songs that children can learn from and I also like to make colorful diagrams and charts that make it more easier to read and remember.
I have done school tutoring and some tutoring with younger family memebers who are dyslexic and who have ADHD. I havent had any exsperince with people outside of school and family but I found out that my ways of learning are very helpful and I think I can provide them to children who need helpin any subject.

My comments on tutoring World History : I have a degree in International Relations and have studied international world history extensively.

I like a very engaging style of teaching, using visuals or work sheets, charts, or picture to have hands on to help the participant learn. I am incredibly energetic when it comes to learning and want those I tutor and teach to succeed and enjoy the process of learning.
While in university I studied art history, studio art, and international relations. I was a teaching assistant for many art history classes, including renaissance, modern, and post modern art. I also was a teaching assistant for several studio art classes including drawing, photography, and silk screen. I have 35 years experience in Bell System Management retiring as Operations Manager of Outstate Georgia. Most of this time was used managing, mentoring and teaching others in day to day operations and in class room settings. My strong suits are English, business letter writing, Political Science, Economics and basic Accounting. My major at UNC Chapel Hill was Economics within an overall degree of Business Administration. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student. This allows me to gain their confidence as well as not create a bored atmosphere. I find this very important, especially with the more difficult students.
As seen from above, I have valid tutoring experience in both middle grades and HS. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program."
