After graduation, I taught on a transitional teaching license. I taught in the Woodburn School District. I then went to Japan and taught English as a second language. I grew up between Bolivia and the United States and speak Spanish and English fluently. I took statistics in university and taught math in Spanish from time to time as a substitute for the Woodburn School District. In Woodburn I taught a self contained classroom for a while. I had to teach ELL students Social Studies, Math, Language arts in both Spanish and English and science. As a substitute I taught all kinds of classrooms including all subject matters. My teaching experience has all been in volunteer roles. I taught Sunday School class and Youth Group at New Hope Church in Bend for grades 5 through 12. I have recently applied for and been accepted as a mentor in the Deschutes County COPY (Central Oregon Partnership for Youth) program, and have gone through a 6-hour mentorship training program as a requirement of the program, in addition to fingerprinting and a criminal background check. My Bachelor of Science degree gave me a strong math background, and I have significant experience in writing technical documents, and proofreading reports.
