I have completed three weeks of training in the Project Lead the Way program at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. PLTW has prepare me with the tools I need to execute the STEM curriculum in Middle Schools. I was able to receive training in the areas of Automation and Robotics, Design and Modeling and Medical Detectives. When I teach, I like to focus on the conceptual part of the subject before diving into the problem solving aspect. I believe it is essential to understand the significance of the matter, not just go through the motions.
During my time at the University of South Carolina, I was a part-time tutor for the athletic department. There, I provided academic assistance in accounting, college calculus and statistics. I use math on a constant basis, as I interned as an auditor at a public accounting firm in Columbia and was an CoOp analyst for Johnson and Johnson. Math is definitely my strong suit and I've always been able to communicate my knowledge effectively to others. In High School I received 5s on both the AB and BC Calculus Advanced Placement exams.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy seeing others achieve their goals and begin to comprehend things they didn't before. During the times I've helped other students and friends, I have always had a lot of patience. I know that these things don't come fast, and so I take the time to teach the material, give them time to try and do the problems on their own, and then go back over the material making sure each point is understood, even the places where the student may have gone astray.
