I have always had a passion for education and learning. I have always excelled in mathematics from elementary to collegiate levels. I LOVE math. I love to do math and I love to teach math. I was even on a math competition team in middle school. I have a strong statistical background from my Psychology studies and have taught Middle Grades Math to 8th graders. I taught Standard 8 Plus and Algebra 1 to 8th grade students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. I began tutoring as a volunteer with the America Reads program in high school. I continued volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club during college. After an opportunity to assist a professor in administering a freshman course, I applied to teach high school in Pasco County. I taught world history and psychology for one year before returning to school for my Master of Arts degree in History. I continued tutoring on the side, but spent most of my time assisting professors in the Department of History at Winthrop University as a Graduate Assistant where I edited exams and papers for undergraduate students. A Little Bit About Me...

I just recently completed my first semester of teaching University 101 at the University of South Carolina. This course allowed me to find out how much I enjoy teaching. I like to be able to make a personal connection with the students and learn about their learning styles and much more. I feel like each person who is in a teaching capacity has the ability to motivate and help each child in the classroom. It is just up to each one of us to decide how much time and effort we are willing to put into each student. As for me, I am always willing to help each student reach their full potential, even if that means a little extra work from me.
