A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a nanny for a child with ADD for the past three summers. I know how to work with children with ADD very well because of that experience. I also was a volunteer teacher's aide for the first grade at my school my senior year of high school. I got to work with the children every day of that school year doing many different activities. I have also worked some with autistic children. I have shadowed speech pathologists that work with autistic children as well. I got to work even more with autistic children during that experience.

A Little Bit About Me...

Over the past few months I have been involved with substitute teaching in Richland School District 2. Since being involved I have gotten very much involved in every aspect of teaching. I have been requested at serveral of the district schools because of the way I respond to being in the classroom and working with children of age grades and ages. I am very excited about being in the schools on a daily basis and plan to take things a step further and pursue a full time teaching position in the upcoming school through an accrediated university program.
I feel as though I am highly qualified and competitive for a teaching position because of my abilities to relate to children of all ages. As a volunteer basketball referee at Northside Baptist Church, Upward basketball program since 1998, I work with children between the ages of 7 and 13. I teach them about basketball and sportsmans ... read more

As a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Towson University with a degree in elementary and special education, I have always pushed myself to achieve excellence. I have a collaborative personality and strong interpersonal and communication skills. As a graduate with a dual major, I am able to bring background knowledge and experience from both the general education and special education perspective. In addition to the collaborative training I received, Towson has adequately prepared me to be a facilitator of active learning in other ways. My dual degree afforded sufficient training for me to asses and provide differentiated instruction to all students based on their individual learning needs, whether they are exceptional learners or not.
I am an extremely patient educator. I have worked with a wide range of students from students with academic and behavioral disabilities to highly gifted an ... read more

I am an honors graduate with a degree in Special Education and dual certification in Elementary Education. I am currently working toward a masters degree in learning and technology. My teaching experience prior to entering public education included teaching in an international school (Qingdao, China)and teaching in private schools in the United States. I am experienced with helping students to reach their academic and personal goals regardless of any challenges.
Because every child learns in a unique variety of ways, I incorporate a wide range of learning methods into each lesson. Tuning each component of a carefully crafted lesson to the needs of each individual student - is a juggling act that is challenging and rewarding to me. Intuitively supporting learning’s synergistic nature, I enjoy the daily balance of presenting new principles, while skillfully solidifying what ha ... read more

I am patient, and have an easy going personality. I enjoy working with children, and seeing them understand new concepts. Having worked with many children on a daily basis, I know that each child can succeed. I believe that learning is accomplished through both discovery, and in traditional methods. My goal is not only to help children learn, but also, to make a difference in their lives.
After completing my bachelor degree in Elementary Education, I began teaching First Grade. Each day I was responsible for a maximum of thirty children at a time. I taught Bible, Phonics, Reading, Spelling, Arithmetic, Poetry, Science, Health, Art, History, and Writing. During the four years of teaching, I have tutored various children with learning difficulties. Each day I tutored children in Arithmetic, Phonics, Reading, and Writing.
