Teaching is not only my passion but my calling. Having had the opportunity to teach both fifth and second grade specializing in reading I have learned very helpful techniques. A Little Bit About Me...

For the past ten years, I have been teaching High School English. I have taught grades 9-12 in Literature, Composition and Standards of Learning in preparation for the state exams. I have taught inclusion classes involving students with numerous learning styles and have always met and exceeded the expectations of their parents.
I am a very motivating person and tend to use humor as a method of teaching. I teach to and with the child and never down to him/her. I break large components into their simplest forms so that a child learns to take things one step at a time and not feel overwhelmed. I make the learning relevant to what the child is interested in or knows about so that he/she can be more engaged in the learning process. We set the goal-a reasonable one yet with high expectations and together we achieve it.

I believe that most students gain the best understanding when they are required to use their auditory skills, while visualizing the information, and writing the information for the practice of kinesthetic learning.
