I use a multifaceted approach to teaching. I engage my students through experiential learning, service learning, multimedia lecture, discussion, and demonstration. I am a graduate of the University of Southern MS, with a undergraduate in Business Marketing. I began teaching and tutoring in 2008-2009 school for Jackson Public Schools. I underwent the Alternative Route for teaching for ceritification. I am the Aaccelerated Reader Coordinator for Lee Elementary School. I also serve as Head Librarian for the school as well. Our school has implemented a plan in which Resource staff tutors daily. I tutor grades 3-5 in areas of Mathematics, Reading and Language Arts. In addition, I am exceptional with grammatical skills and love to write papers. I love working with children. I am mainly in the Library however, I work with students on a one to one basis. I cater my teaching style to the indivual students (I work with several). I am patient and considerate because I know that what might work for one student might not necessarily work for the next.

My short venture in civil engineering school at Mississippi State University provided me with knowledge in physics and chemistry as well. As a graduate of Mississippi State University, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I had the opportunity to intern in the West Point Public School District where I taught fourth grade and kindergarten. I learned valuable information while teaching that will help me throughout my teaching career such as how to plan and lead effective lessons, how to differentiate instruction, and collaboration to create an creative learning environment.
