I currently work at an Elementary School in Andover, KS as a special education paraeducator. I assist in grades Kindergarten - 2nd. I have an elementary teaching degree from Wichita State University. I student taught in 5th grade and 1st grade for Wichita Public Schools. I have worked as a substitute teacher in Andover, KS, and I also worked as a paraeducator for an elementary school in Wichita, KS for several years. A Little Bit About Me...

Volunteer at my church in the children's ministry and love changing those kids lives for the better. In conclusion, I think that I can still be successful in teaching. I however, need to find what area that I can be most successful at. I think that with my non-traditional training and experience, that a similar position would give me the opportunity to be most successful. One thing that I have thought a great deal about these past few weeks, is that I am entering middle age and must be a success at something. In the past, I have found the most enjoyment and fulfillment working with special needs and incarcerated students. In helping with mathematics, I interact with the student. I try to help the student find the answers. I give hints towards the direction needed to go to solve the problem. If helping with reading, I have the student read to me. If the student is uncomfortable, I read a paragraph and then have the student read the next paragraph. I help the student pronounce words.
