A Little Bit About Me...

My experience in teaching is broad and varied. I have taught medical students, other physicians, technologists, as well as teaching at military facilities. In additiom, I have two school age children myself and I believe that I am their primary teacher. This varied teaching experience allows me to tailor my teaching methods to the students and has allowed me to gain a great fund of knowledge.
I believe that learning is best achieved in a comfortable, nothreatening enviroment. People learn best when they understand the importance of the material being taught, something I strive to convey to my students. While I can easily teach a didactic lecturing style, I feel that an interactive approach often better meets the needs of the students. I have earned a bachelor degree in Chemistry and am currently in a PhD program in Pharmaceutical Science. As an undergraduate I had the opportunity to tutor my peers in both science and writing courses. As a general chemistry tutor, I was expected to communicate lecture materials in a new or different way, as well as to assist in problem-solving efforts for students who were struggling.
