I can relate best with the student/youth.

I attended Rufus King World IB High school in Milwaukee, Wi, one of the most prestigious inner city high schools in the country. I excelled in IB Geography, Chorus, and Theatre. I was one of those kids who never did any homework, but passed my tests. Everyone came to me for help on projects, homework, ect. I feel that I didn't fully utilize my strengths in school as I could have, so I would love to share that with those who need it now.
Very relaxed, easy going, friendly. I feel less pressure and non stressful settings help students learn better. They can relate to a younger person who is more in tune with youth and someone who understands them.

My comments on tutoring Computer Programming : I am an expert at Computer Programming. I know several programming languages, both interpreted and compiled (including assembly language), as well as almost all of the basic and advanced algorithms. From control structures and loops, methods/procedures, sorting, stacks and queues, arrays and lists, objects, object extensibility, pass by value or reference, writing to and reading from standard input and output devices like keyboard, screen, and files, you name it. I've seen the concept before. Even if you're working with a programming language I haven't worked with before, I can still help you, because a programming language is just a set of rules, structures, a grammar, and a syntax. It is easy to learn any programming language. Your first hour of tutoring is free (even if you don't continue) so that you can see how much tutoring is really going to help you. I am currently employed by a college in Roanoke, Virginia as a tutor of mathematics, chemistry, and computer science and tutor elementary school, middle school, high school, college students, and others professionally. More About This Tutor...

For the past two years, I have been working as an adjunct instructor and tutor in mathematics and computer information systems for a local Community College. This experience has been so fulfilling, that I am diligently pursuing a career change from Information Technology professional to teaching. I also taught mathematics for one year at a private school.
Students generally perform better with hands-on practice. I provide multiple opportunities for hands-on and guided practice as time permits. Associate new concepts to familiar ones. Our memories are largely associative in nature. Therefore, providing connections from new concepts back to well established ones increases our retention and recall. This is especially important in building up understanding in mathematics. Provide relevant examples. A student who is actively enaged in the lesson will learn more.
