I am a retired trial lawyer from the State of Maryland. My career as a trial lawyer spanned 26 years and included hundreds of jury and non-jury trials in State and Federal Courts.I am still a member of the Washington D.C. Bar.My writing experience includes hundreds of motions and dozens of briefs.I have taught some college level courses in the Criminal Justice area. I taught ESL in South Korea for two months. I have taught Reading and Essay writing for a year. I also teach ACT Test preparation for these subjects At present I am tutoring several students.
I enjoy teaching and working with all children. I believe that virtually all children can learn with the proper motivation and encouragement. I am a holistic teacher who likes for students to experience the subject. For example I would have student immerse themselves into the subject of history and complete a project and present it to the other students. It was really successful and had students waiting all year.
When working towards my teaching certification I was in many classrooms from Kindergarten to 12th Grade in Pueblo School District 60. After graduation I applied and got a teaching job and I taught at Skyview Middle School in District 49 for 4 years teaching Ancient Civilizations. Before that I was a substitute in District 8, 2, 3, 60, 48 all southern Colorado school districts.

As a graduate of a presigious liberal arts college, I was driven to a belief in life-long learning. As such I have been to graduate school twice, once in business and once in international relations, to gain an understanding of the world in which we live both in terms of economics and finance and through the study of foreign policy and the wider world. A Little Bit About Me...

At the outset of the personal computer revolution I sold and supported Tandy computers. As part of the support function I instructed clients in the use of their computers. A whole new world blossomed for me. Teaching clients to use their computers turned out to be a long term and very rewarding experience. During my thirteen years as The Computer Tutor I encountered a multitude of student learning difficulties. By working with the individual students, creative solutions were structured and successfully executed. Tutoring the non-traditional students to achieve their goals was by far the greatest reward. I began working with children who were diagnosed with autism my first year of college (I did this for 7 years). I felt a sense of accomplishment as I watched them grow as people. I realized through these experiences that I wanted to help people learn and become accomplished. Later, I decided to student teach in graduate school. I taught three different writing courses over three years, including this past year as a part-time instructor. While I enjoyed my time teaching in a college classroom, I found myself making the most headway during conference time. In addition, I also worked as a writing tutor at MU's writing center.
