Poetry is one of my top subjects! A poet at an early age, I edited my college literary magazine, and so have both personal and education-related experience with poetry as an art and as a study subject. My comments on tutoring Poetry : I love writing poetry and truly enjoy reading poetry as well.I have experience in writing my own poetry for the stage as well as other creative writing outlets. I would love to help someone find their voice within the realms of poetic fodder and see just how creative they don't even know they are! :)

I have my A.A. degree in Theatre and Communications and will be receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Film Studies in December of 2012. I have experience with children ranging from grades K-12th. I have been a Teacher's Aide since 2004 and a Summer Counselor since 2006. My beliefs about education illustrate that every child has the right and the ability to learn. I believe in data driven instruction. It is not good enough to blindly teach everyday, without proving you are making progress within the skills you are teaching. Once data is disaggregated to show which skills need the most frequent and intense focus, the skill is taught, and then tested again. The next step is determined by the result of the post test; either the skill is re-taught or enrichments are given. I also believe heavily in the use of group work and student teaching/ interaction.
