I have been typing for over 25 years. I have been teaching since 2006 as a graduate teaching assistant then as as an instructor for four colleges/ universities. I tutored students in various grades, mostly in mathematics, but also in science and social studies. I also tutored in physics and helped students understand the relationships between science and mathematics. I have a love of working with especially young children. I feel that children want to learn. I believe that children will learn through immersion in music and mass media. I also would teach a child to learn the step by step basics of mathematics and use each example in a realistic setting.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and showing them something new. I feel a sense of reward when a student of mine realizes that they have a new concept. When the lightbulb comes on it is the best feeling in the world. I believe that given the right tools and the right environment all students can learn anything that they put their minds to. I am not a dictator in my teaching style, more of a teammate. I work alongside students guiding them to the next step. I am a fan of I do, we do, you do. I tutor based on the individual's learning needs. I have encountered some that were visual learners ad everything had to be drawn/written out. I have also tutored students that can have me explain it and they grasp it easily. My teaching style changes according to the needs of the student because not every one learns the same. I do believe Accounting is a complex field and the student has to have an interest in the field to truly be successful in retaining what they are taught. While earning my Masters in Accounting, I voluntarily tutored Undergrad students that were earning their Associates or Bachelors in Accounting. The students were enrolled in the local community college (Central Carolina Tech) as well as the University of South Carolina. I have earned an Associates, Bachelors, and Masters which all have concentration in Accounting.
