A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy a very interactive learning approach. I tend to use hands on and visual learning techniques. I am patient and children are my joy to work with. It does not matter how long it takes one to learn, everyone is capable. I desire to set up a fun and disciplined learning environment for the students best success.
During the attainment of my undergraduate degree, I conducted research under my professor, Dr. Greg Powell. Throughout the research, I gathered many skills one being creative in learning, as well as, presenting new material and teaching it to fellow peers and professors. I have also worked as a teacher’s assistant, running a chemistry lab of about - five students.

I believe all children have their own pace and develop their own learning styles in which they are able to comprehend the knowledge that is being taught to them. Teaching Science I learned that by observing and working hands-on with experiments children really get involved with the process and in the outcome learn from the experience. I believe by letting students experience education they are more involved in their education and want to learn.
Since my graduation from Southeaster Oklahoma State University I substituted on all grade levels from pre-k to 12th grade for 2 years. I long-term substituted first grade from January to May of 2008 and 5th grade from April to May of 2007. I also taught 5th grade Science for the school year of 2008-2009.
