My comments on tutoring Special Education : As a Resource Room teacher for children with Special Needs I had the opportunity to get to know my students very well in a small setting.

I have taught in both public and private school settings. In the public school setting I was a Resource Room Teacher for students with varied learning and behavior needs. I was responsible for writing and implementing each student's IEP's. In addition I created an optimal learning environment for them. In the private setting I taught for a number of years one to one reading instruction for elementary age students. I have also taught and facilitated lessons at a private children's Hands On Science Center.

I have a love for learning and teaching!

I have been teaching special education for six years. I taught special education to kindergarten through third grade in a Montessori school for four years. I have experience in teaching students with disabilities in reading, writing, and math. My teaching style is very hands on. I employ a visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile (VAKT) method for remembering the rules of the English language. This method is described as "direct" or hands on and one-on-one. I only work with one student at a time.

A Little Bit About Me...

I recently have spent the last six months in the Head Start Program as a center teacher. We prepare them for kindergarten. I have taught all grade levels. I currently have a BA with a concentration in K-8 education. Due to online classes, I have written hundreds of research and essay papers using APA style although I have helped my son use MLA which I can write in effectively.
