After graduation from college in Texas I taught high school math in Brownsville, Texas for 4 years. I moved to Dallas and taught math in Richardson for 8 more years before we moved to California. I chose to home school my own children in all subjects for grades 1-12. They are now both honor students at there respective universities. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca. I love working with children of all ages. Math is my second love and I almost majored in math instead of music. Math was always easy for me in school. Although I don't enjoy writing, I am very strong in written English and enjoy proofreading papers.
I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I would describe my teaching style in terms of the activity, belaying. Slack is given to the rope at times so that the climber may advance, or traverse, the face of the mountain. When the climber feels tired, or incapable, the rope needs tightening so the climber stays secure. If the climber falls from the face of the mountain the taught rope will prevent injury or possible demise. I tend to give my students slack when I feel they are advancing in terms of curriculum, yet once I notice their tendency to rest, or falter, I tighten my teaching approach by using more straightforward methods so that they are not confused, or do not wear themselves out with struggle. This is all so they reach the top of whatever mountain they choose to conquer.
