I am graduating with my Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Tennessee Technological University of Cookeville, TN. I transferred from a 2 year community college in Harriman, TN known as Roane State Community College. Before starting college, I graduated from Rockwood High School in Rockwood, TN, where I never made lower than a B or a high C in some of my harder classes. I started taking college classes in my Senior year of high school and I was always in the advanced Math classes up until that point. After graduating from MTSU, I went to Prague, Czech Republic to train and work as a teacher of English as a foreign language. I secured a position at Bell School International. Here I taught mostly adult students but I also had a few high school classes. I found it was more satisfying teaching the younger students and so I looked for work at the elementary level. At Horackova Elementary, I taught 6th to 9th grade English. I had a great rapport with all the students and enjoyed planning for the array of levels and age groups. So much of it is about instilling confidence in the student that he or she is intelligent and capable of mastering the subject.
