I tend to be a hands-on teacher. I enjoy watching the light bulb "light up" when a new skill is understood. I do like to work face-to-face with students as It provides a more dynamic environment for both parties. I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography.
I love working with kids of all ages. All children are unique and they all learn in different ways. I believe its the teachers responsibllity to understand how their students learn best and then help communicate the curriculum to them in a way that they will best uderstand and retain that knowledge.

My experience and educational accomplishments enable me to be an effective teacher. This recent accomplishment gives me the ability to teach in an academic environment and also to apply my recent experience in test taking techniques. I have been very active volunteering in the public schools. My children’s state testing scores are in the top 1% and 4% in the nation for reading and math. While I have not any direct teaching experience, save for helping my children with their homework, I can say that I have patience, an even-tempered demeanor, and the desire to not quit until the student understands the material being covered. My approach would be in the use of practical application of the subject matter.
I have been in accounting and finance since my graduation from UW-Whitewater in 1985. I have worked in public accounting, manufacturing and in non-profit organizations. While I was continuing my education at Marian University, I would tutor other students in Managerial Accounting. Accounting is a very difficult concept for people to understand and I enjoyed working with them one on one to help them get through this course. Accounting is important to understand as it could help the individual out in their personal finances as well. Too many people rely on credit cards to purchase items and can easily get out of control without a good concept of a budget.
