Geography is one of my top subjects! Able to tutor/teach all elements of Geography/Social Studies as made relevant in the American classroom today.

I have over of 30 years of progressive experience in tutoring young children in the elementary years of education in all subject matter areas. My specialty is literacy and reading, but I am also adept in teaching all of the math curricula as well. I also firmly believe that teaching organizational skills and proper research methodologies are very important for the classroom today--and every child needs these skills in order to excel in the classroom and survive. I am also a qualified art teacher in the NOVA area.
I believe in tutoring so that the child receives feedback and fully understands his/her own limitations and how to overcome obstacles in class. Many children lack positivity in the methodology! I also believe that using art instruction helps children to learn in a more creative manner.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with younger generations. I believe stimulating intelligence and creativity in younger people sometimes requires thinking outside the box. Following instructions and completing homework certainly is a priority, as that prepares for adulthood. I began tutoring for a company called ClubZ back in January of 2008. This was a Title I program in Frederick County, and only a Title I school could participate. I had three students; a student in kindergarten needing reading assistance; a student in third grade needing math assistance, and a student in fourth grade needing reading comprehension assistance. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education, although I chose not to work in the classroom as a full-time teacher.
