I worked in the financial sector for 10 years and have a Master's Degree in Economics and Finance. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I have taught S. Studies for over 15 years. I am certified to teach this subject in grades 1-8.

I have taught for many decades and use a variety of teaching styles since all students learn differently. I am more of a 'traditional' style teacher, realizing that the basics are vital. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Experienced at the Middle and High School level.

I graduated from Princeton University with a BA (cum laude) in History and will be starting a Ph.D. program in History in the fall. I served as a tutor at the middle school level during my college years and have worked with High School students on History, English and ACT/SAT prep for the past year.I have also served in various other academically-related positions, including as a research assistant and library assistant.
I like to nurture my students without enabling them. I tend to ask my students pointed questions about the subject at hand to inspire critical thinking and push them to arrive at their own interpretation of the correct answer. I feel that this best prepares them for college-level work.
