My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension: Without comprehension, there is no way to apply what one learns through reading.
Very relaxed and encouraging. I use quite a bit of discussion, and I like to ask students questions that lead them down the path to help them discover the answers they seek. I have found that information is better retained if one can guide the student to the conclusion that they seek, building upon the knowledge that is already there.
