A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved teaching, whether its adults or children. Everyone has their own learning style and teachers need to be able to adapt teaching methods to help all succeed. My personality is very driven, outgoing, yet very patient and understanding. My goal when presenting curriculum based school programs is that the students all leave with at least one idea that they will remember and share with others.
Prior to changing my undergraduate major to Geography, I was an elementary education major. I have always enjoyed working with students; however, at the time I wanted to try something different and is how I ended up working as a Park Ranger for the National Park Service (NPS). Along with tutoring college level students, I also worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rapid City as a tutor to elementary level students. Working with children is a passion of mine, and I am patient and willing to use different teaching techniques to ensure that the student is comfortable with the material. Sometimes all a student needs is a new view on the material, and I'm willing to provide that for them.
I'm currently a senior at the University of South Dakota. I'm finishing my Chemistry/Spanish double major via online classes in Rapid City, SD.
