A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Liberty University in May 2009 with a BS in Accounting. I am currently and have been a substitute teacher in Bedford County for the 2009-2010 school year. I have substituted for grades 6-12. I have been a football coach at Liberty High School for 3 years and I have been a track & field coach at Liberty High School for 5 years. I have helped different types of students away from school in various subjects. I love math and I am in the process of completing the requirements to gain a teaching license to teach high school math.
I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. Education has always been extremely important to me. To me there is no greater feeling than finally grasping a difficult concept and I love helping someone else achieve that feeling. Consistently during grade school, high school, and college, other students came to me for help with their schoolwork and I enjoyed providing them with a new perspective, or recapping the teacher’s lecture. I have worked as a tutor for migrant aid workers’ children, helping them to learn English, as well as with Biology, Math and Grammar. I have a BA in Biology with extensive credit hours in Chemistry. I have just recently graduated from USF College of Medicine with a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences and hold a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois. I have extensive research experience in bioinformatics from the University of Illinois. I have one year experience tutoring in the underprivileged area of Urbana, Illinois; at Garden Hills Elementary I tutored kids from 3rd and 5th grade classes who had fallen behind the scheduled lesson plan.
