I have worked at Pulaski Technical College for 3 years tutoring several math and Science Courses. I love tutoring and enjoy assisting others in the pursuit of knowledge. I worked as a teachers assistant at Pulaski technical college for the head of the Biology department. I held a class that was not required but encouraged by the school to help the students in the biology course prepare for test and answer questions regarding labs. This class took place after the regular scheduled class and lab each week. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA at Pulaski Technical College and will graduate from University of Arkansas at Little Rock in December of 2014.
I use a variety of teaching styles, until I find out a style that appeals to the student I am working with. Some students are visual, while others are kinesthetic like myself.

Chemistry is one of my top subjects! I have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, three years of graduate work in chemistry from the University of Georgia, a Master's degree in Teaching chemistry, and eight years experience teaching chemistry in public and private Christian schools. In addition to teaching, I have also tutored high school and college level chemistry for over ten years. While I have a passion for chemistry and a gift for teaching, I understand that chemistry is a very difficult subject for many, if not most students. Through my experience, I have helped countless students of all learning types and ability levels grasp the abstract concepts of chemistry to succeed in their chemistry courses.

Math and Science Tutor

I'm currently finishing my junior year as a chemistry major at The University of Arkansas at Little Rock. My minor is biology. Chemistry is a demanding field that requires knowledge in science as well as mathematics. My degree requires several math classes along witn chemistry classes. Before I became a chemistry major I was a biology major. I've had courses in microbiology, zoology, and anatomy & physiology. I've worked as a teachers aide at my college and I've also tutored at my college. I've obtained a 3.7/4.0 GPA in my studies. Tutoring comes easy to me because I'm such a people's person. I get along great with kids especially. I'm a very vibrant and confident person which also helps my tutoring abilities. My plans after obtaining my bachelors degree in chemistry is to continue on to medical school and become a doctor.

More About This Tutor...

I have always been enthusiastic about educating young adults in the magic of chemistry. Chemistry can be a daunting subject, but I have found that students can master chemistry when they are shown how to break down chemistry and chemical problems as well as given "real world" chemical trivia to see the purpose behind learning chemistry. I firmly believe everyone is interested in learning chemistry; some just don't know it yet!
I have extensive experience in post secondary chemical education. During my graduate work, I both served as a tutor and a lecturer for general chemistry. After graduation, I became a college chemistry professor teaching general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. After six years in academia, I became an industrial chemist and am currently employed by a company in Little Rock.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored most subjects in both in middle school and high school. My most recent experience was tutoring psychology and spanish at the college level. I do not hold a teaching certificate, but I do love to teach.
I always adapt my teaching style to fit the student. I am willing to do just about anything to help a student learn a subject, so long as that student is as dedicated to learning it as I am to teaching it. It takes two people working together in order to have a sucessful tutoring session.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been in some aspect of education for over 21 years. My experience includes tutoring math and science for Talent Search in 1990, teaching biology, chemistry, physics, physical science, applied math 2, principles of technology I & II, algebra I workshop, general science, life science, earth science and environmental science to grades 7-12 the past 18 years, physical science on a college level, and currently tutor 8-12 grades in science and teach intro to chemistry and environmental science on a college level.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored at several locations and can provide references for the high school and college students that I have tutored. I would also be comfortable teaching basics of math, physics, or Spanish. I have taught University classes on chemistry for beginners (high school level) as part of my graduate assistantship.
Very comfortable working with large groups or individuals. I have like to use interaction and real-world examples to demonstrate the concepts of chemistry. I can drill students who are struggling or not comfortable with the rhythm of the classroom, or review with A.P. chemistry students before a test. I let the students drive the direction of a tutoring session when they are confident in core concepts.

I have tutored all through High School, College and thereafter. I have a real passion for learning math, all sciences, and history. I hope I can pass this respect for these studies on to everyone I teach.
I believe we all learn in different ways, and I am always open minded in finding the best way for that student I am working with at that time. I believe everyone can achieve the highest of goals if we all strive for that success and find out a way to get there. However, most of all I hope I can leave a feeling of respect for the studies and for the people around us.

My first priorty to assist students in learning is developing a positive relationship with them, and then try to identify their strengths and weaknesses. From that point I can then begin to provide assistance and correction. One of the secrets or truths to student achievement is building their confidence and establishing high self-esteem traits toward achievement in that particular subject area.
I began my educational goals as a medical student, but later was advised that I should branch off into teaching and instructional applications by undergraduate and graduate professors.I'm so glad I took their advice because I really enjoy teaching and observing growth and development in my students. More About This Tutor...

I received my BS degree in 2007 in pre-medicine. I majored in pre-professional zoology and I have a minor in biochemistry. I also worked at the Talent Development Center as a tutor for biology, botany, chemistry and biochemistry. I have a strong background in all science courses and maintained a 3.87 GPA throughout college.
I have been involved in a lot of activities and feel the best way to teach is to relate to the student. As a tutor, I have worked with many different types of students and I found a way to relate the information to something they were interested in. I believe all students are capable of learning the material; it just has to be presented in a way they understand.
