Elementary Phonics Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in Bryan, TX

Whenever possible, I use highlighters, colored pencils, hands-on manipulatives, and other items to help students learn. I have been teaching elementary students since 1995 in 1st and 4th grades. I have taught all subject areas, especially language arts and math. I want to encourage students to think for themselves and to work through their learning in a way that makes sense to them. I am currently entering my senior year at the Woodlands High School seeking any opportunity to earn money to go towards college. I use note-cards and mnemonics. I'm also fond of repetition (which will allow the student to obviously retain the information) and often do reviews at the end of a session to further examine what said student is struggling with. So far I have only tutored one student for a year or so. However, I am very knowledgeable in these subjects and hope to make the best of your child's tutoring experience. And despite my inexperience, I am more than capable of tutoring. I also am willing to respect the established rules and wishes that the student's caretakers have placed upon us meeting.

I was a History, Chemistry and Literature tutor while attending Austin Community College. My experience as a tutor for the last five years had allowed me to help perfect my teaching style. My college education lasted ten years and during that time I studied a wide variety of subjects, such as Chemistry, Biology, Literature, Writing, Government, Anthropology and History. I will also be receiving my teaching certificate in the next 2 years. I strive to make learning fun in any way that I can.
