I enjoy watching children learn and grow. I believe there are different teaching techniques for each individual student. I have come to learn this because of my younger sibling who didn't fit into the mold of a typical public school student. I am a firm believer in trying new things and new approaches. As a Bowling Green State University student who has studied Communication Disorders I have come across many experiences with children. Communication Disorders not only includes speech, but language as well. I have gained knowledge about how children read and write and why some children may have problems with this. Upon graduation from the University of Toledo, I have worked in two different school districts and in almost every grade level. In the Springfield district I was a teacher aid in both first and second grade where I assisted children with learning disabilities. I currently am working with the Bedford school district where I am a literacy coach and I teach students from K-6th grade to because better readers. I also work with these students on their Math skills. In my free time I work at subway and I coach Freshman girls basketball at springfield high school and rec. co-ed soccer. I believe the key to teaching is finding what each child is interested in and making that connection. Every child is unique and learns best in their own special way.
