The most important element of achieving success in school is self confidence. The way I help build that in children is by being extremely positive, supportive, and full of praise. I observe their behavior carefully to make sure they truly understand what they are being taught. When something is challenging to a child, I try different methods until I know it “clicked”. I taught 8th through 10th grade at a Christian School in Ludowici. I taught every subject, but never a math course higher then Algebra 1. I am a firm believer that the best way to learn varies from subject to subject. When I taught math my view was that the best way to teach was to break everything down into a step by step process and have the students memorize the process. Most other subjects can be learned through repitition, but math requires everything to be broken down.
