In my case, I had the good fortune of having teachers from my early school days who helped me strengthen my motive to learn by engaging my mind directly in the educative process. They provided a purpose or rationale to direct my energies towards learning activities to engage in thinking and questioning, and cultivated the inquisitiveness in me. This helped me grapple with the topics’ content and concepts at a more substantive and intellectually challenging level. It also helped me better understand on how to relate lessons to our lives and provided a roadmap to know where I was leading and what to expect along the way. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my coursework at Eau Claire, I have adopted a constructivist approach to teaching. That is, I believe that every child is unique and learns differently. It is the instructors job to find out how each child learns the material, whether it be visually with demonstrations or integrating the material to an area of interest (like a favorite sport), and then cater to their particular need. As a result, I am easy to approach, likeable, and try to be a supportive as opposed to disciplinary mentor.
