Biology is one of my top subjects!

I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. I also taught "at-risk" elementary age children during the summer for the Glendora Unifed School District in Glendora, CA. I tutored privately for three years from 2005-2008 in south Los Angeles County and north Orange County, CA. I can provide recommendations from these clients if you are interested. My youngest students were in first grade with my oldest students attending college.

Student teaching provided many opportunities to work on various teaching techniques. The student teaching semester consisted of; leading the class in discussion on a daily basis, creating worksheets, conducting lab experiments and other activities, grading homework and tests, and much more. I created and taught four lessons during the observation semester. I have also been involved in teaching and tutoring a college chemistry class under the supervision of a college professor.
