A Little Bit About Me...

Education has always been extremely important to me. To me there is no greater feeling than finally grasping a difficult concept and I love helping someone else achieve that feeling. Consistently during grade school, high school, and college, other students came to me for help with their schoolwork and I enjoyed providing them with a new perspective, or recapping the teacher’s lecture. I have worked as a tutor for migrant aid workers’ children, helping them to learn English, as well as with Biology, Math and Grammar. I have a BA in Biology with extensive credit hours in Chemistry. I have worked with children and families for the past twenty years in various settings. I have a BS in social science from Longwood University and a Master's of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. My career and experience entails training others, instructing in a collegiate setting, writing assessments, reports and maintaining vital documentation on client progress.
I love teaching and working with all populations. I am patient and flexible in my teaching styles.
