Reasonable Rates for a Passionate, Experienced Teacher

I think that the most important aspect of tutoring is finding out why the student needs a tutor, and to get to the bottom of that, it is important to listen to the student and figure out what the barrier to learning has been. Once that is solved, whether it be a lack of interest in the subject, or simply a lack of aptitude for that subject (not all of us are math wizards, for example), I devise an approach that fits the individual student's learning profile and interest area. Teaching styles have to differ from student to student in order to meet that person's needs; this is what I do to maximize the learning experience.

I've always believed that children learn by doing. I would rather have my students get real hands-on experience because concepts can be better attained and understood if children get real experience with it. I also believe that children learn differently from one another and a teacher should be able to accommodate the different learning styles of her or his students. I try to find the best way to relate the given information to the student. Not everyone learns the same way. I will find what makes the most sense to the student and help them understand the given information. Throughout my education, I sometimes just wanted a different approach to the information. I would ask others their opionions and things all of a sudden were clear. That is what I want for my students.
