As a graduate from South Dakota State University, I received a liberal arts education where I majored in Political Science and Global Studies with focus areas of history and religion. In December of 2009, I earned a Bachelor of Arts, which focus’s on the humanities with a heavy influence on writing. Through composition courses and research for term papers, I have come to love the art of writing. Throughout high school and college, I have helped both peers and colleagues find ideas for papers, thesis structure, and the editing process.
Learning is my passion, and helping others realize the importance of education is an important goal of mine. I have worked with children of all ages and enjoy helping them learn. I realize that everyone does not learn at the same speed and am very patient and understanding. I believe that all children have the right to a quality education and over the years have spent as much time as I could helping any child that needed that extra one-on-one. Each child has their own unique personality and a teacher's approach needs to be fit to that student's needs. Learning is fun and all children deserve the chance to learn.
I was not able to obtain a teaching job when I graduated from college so went to work in the field of business. My jobs included: private secretary to a County Judge, bookkeeper, loan processor for a savings and loan, receptionist, cashier, manager, assistant librarian and owner of an electric motor repair business.
