I strongly belive in Differentiated Instruction. Every student, no matter what age, has their own learning style. Working toward learning what style (auditory, visual or by using manipulatives such as cards, tiles, etc.) works best for them is the key to success. Through patience and confience boosting your child can meet their potential.
I began tutoring Math and Spanish when I was sixteen. After seeing how I could help students ccelerate in Mathematics, it was the key to me staying in the teaching field. I began teaching at a Middle School right out of graduation and have loved it ever since. In college, I took a course which studied the programs of Microsoft Office and networking. As a teacher and tutor to Housatonic Community College students for the past four years, I have helped a variety of students in the areas of Math and Science. The HCC student body is greatly varied in age and ability level. This variety of students has allowed me the experience to educate many different individuals with many different learning styles. I have worked as a math and science tutor for the HCC Academic Support Center, I currently teach two non-credit math courses for HCC Continuing Education, and I also currently tutor in remedial math classes.
