Ballet is one of my top subjects! I have danced Ballet since I was 4 years old and have taught Ballet for the past 3 years.

My comments on tutoring Ballet : I have been trained ballet professionally for over one and a half years and I am still learning and practicing. So far, I am capable of doing all the fundamental movements at barre and some basic skills on point. Apparently, I live in a studio with woodfloor and mirror near University of Florida, so it is convenient for tutoring and practising.

My teaching style would be best described as creative and improvisational. Because I work with students from such varied backgrounds, I believe that the best method is one that allows for flexibility and at the same time incorporates lessons from several fields at once. For example, in both my GED and ESOL courses I incorporate music into my lesson plans. I find that music is an excellent avenue to explore contemporary topics that can then lead to essay topics. At the same time, song lyrics are poetry and can be studied as such.

A Little Bit About Me...

I was enrolled in the Master's Program for Elementary Education at the University of Florida and volunteered over 300 hours in the public school system. I have only one year left before obtaining my advanced degree should I decide to return to school. I have also been a tutor and mentor for at-risk youth.
