I have obtained my Master's Degree in Philosophy and Critical Thought from the French University "Paris VIII". My primary experience has been in politics and philosophy, and has contained, as non-academic experience, involvement in small political groups dealing with specific issues affecting society at large. Learning philosophy has meant a strong knowledge of the English as well as French languages, including a strong background in European history dealing primarily with the period slightly before the French Revolution in France up to the present day, including spots of history in Europe previous to 1775.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in the "practice makes perfect" approach, especially when it comes to math, science, and language study. That said, I also believe that practice can be interesting, fun, encouraging and reinforcing. I would hope to help a student figure out how to learn and approach new challenges with confidence and enthusiasm. Sometimes what a child needs most is to simply understand that he or she is capable of achieving. Instilling self-affirmation is an extremely important part of teaching, and that would be my goal in working with your child.
I began teaching as a college sophomore at MIT. For 9 years, I taught primarily Multivariable Calculus, but also single-variable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and several writing courses. Practiced for years as an attorney for NYS. Semi-retired now. I have also been a tutor with the Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) in Albany, NY. I met with a Korean graduate student at U. Albany and helped him learn English. I am also able to help in foreign language tutoring with German and French.
