One of the first graduates of a dual degree program from Lesley College(www.lesley.edu),I received a BS/MEd in Early Childhood Education specializing in Early Intervention in 1999. Beginning in June of 1999, I raised my three children full-time. During that time, I worked part-time as a Therapeutic Mentor for PSC of Maine(www.provcorp.com). PSC is a behavioral health agency that serves at-risk school-aged children and their families. Soon after arriving in NC in 2008, I obtained my Birth-K teaching lisence and, in 2009, began teaching full-time for the More-at-Four Pre-K program(www.darecountyschoolsonline). I am currently a Biology Major at the University of Southern Maine. I have completed my degree requirements for my BS, I’m finishing up by taking an additional 9 credits this semester before walking for graduation in the Spring, May 2011. During my four years in college I have taken 11 laboratory courses, providing me with extensive knowledge and experience in writing research papers, lab reports and scientific reviews. I have experience in math, reaching a Calculus level; completion of upper level courses in Chemistry, Statistics, and Physics; a variety of liberal arts courses. I was an assistant girl’s high school basketball coach for two years, and have been tutoring high school and college students in math and science for two years. As passionate of a student as I am, I equally enjoy being an active part in another’s understanding and learning towards a new and challenging subject.
