Early in my collegiate career I gained a position as a teaching assistant (TA) and taught a required first year course for 3 out of my 4 years of college. In this position, I noticed that a lot of writing skills were missing from first year students that I felt that they should hav possessed and created and implemented a collegiate level writing and researching workshop that the college still uses. For three years at Florida State University I was enrolled in an excellent teacher education program. At the end of the program I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Social Science Education. While at Florida State University I received three certifications, Social Science Education (6-12), Professional Educator for (All Grades) and Integrated Curriculum (5-9).
