I hold a bachelor's degree in English writing and possess extensive teaching experience as I have taught every summer since I was an undergraduate. Most recently, I instructed creative writing with the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project through the Young Writers Institute where I taught creative writing workshops at the Cathedral of Learning to middle school students. I have also taught art and writing classes through the Community Arts Center of Cambria County and the Greater Johnstown school district for after-school and summer-school programming. I was a cheerleader from 7th grade until my junior year of college at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where i was a flyer on their competition squad. I also coached a junior rah rah camp throughout high school. I attended the University of Pittsburgh where I majored in social work with a minor in sociology and was one class shy of obtaining my ASL certification. I then graduated and spent a year working as a feeding specialist at The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh. I have helped tutor friends’ kids on math from little school to high school. I have taken math all the way up to Differential equations and feel alright tutoring up to calculus one. I do not possess documented experience from schools or other organizations. I am a very highly motivated individual that does not mind helping others. I also have experience in teaching or helping coach little league sports educating kids on how to play games correctly. I have also been an assistant coach and helped out at Clinton Community College with girl’s softball under the head coach.
I like to teach using examples, either on a board to show a person step by step first. Then try to give the student examples to try to solve themselves. If this does not work I continue to breakdown a problem until we can clearly identify where the student is having trouble.

I began my study of American Sign Language (ASL) at the tender age of 12, then studied Latin in high school with Mrs. Ellen Conrad. When I reached college, I continued my study of ASL while tutoring friends in Latin. I have studied Arabic and Irish Gaelic at the college level, and dabbled in Spanish, Hawaiian Creole, and various African languages. In addition to learning, I love to teach.
