Not everyone learns in the same way. I try to discern how the student I am tutoring learns best, whether it's by just doing examples, or visually by physically relating the material to something easier to understand. After I have found out how best to teach my student, I am able to move forward and help them to the best of my ability. In my tutoring experience, I have always been respectful and curteous to my students. I believe that students are much more likely to confident in their learning if they feel as if they are respected their teacher/tutor. My first teaching experience was as a high school senior where I was given the opportunity to teach a small group of 5th graders as part of the Missouri A+ program. We began with division, quickly moving into linear and nonlinear algebra, before touching on the fundamentals of complex numbers, graph theory and trigonometry, before concluding with a derivation of the quadratic formula and its applications. A Little Bit About Me...

During my freshman year at the University of Missouri, I showed a great understanding of two upper level calculus courses (Calculus II and Calculus III) and became a part-time math tutor for the university. While completing the requirements for a BS in Civil Engineering, I spent the last 3 years of the program tutoring math students in courses such as Calculus I, II, and a little bit of Calculus III. I also helped many students with Pre-Calculus or Math Analysis courses.
