I served as an intern art teacher for at-risk first through third graders in an after school/summer school program. Shortly thereafter I started my Master's program, where I integrated my passion for teaching into my capstone project. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in English, I married and worked at support jobs while helping to raise our two children. Upon finding myself a single parent, I decided to return to school and pursue my passion for learning and working with children by obtaining my Masters in Special Education. I have since had the opportunity to work with general education students while teaching Middle School English.. From there I have worked with alternative, at-risk students, emotionally disturbed students and physically disabled students.
