A Little Bit About Me...

My first career was as a Registered Professional Nurse (NYS licensure) for 25 years. During those years, I kept up my interest in various fields of math, such as Abstract Algebra, Differential equations, and topology. I was especially interested in algebraically-capable computer math programs. I,eventually, went back to school for my Mathematics degree as part of a long-standing interest in and commitment to Mathematics. I presently teach students who are "at risk" in the 7th through 12th grades and have done so for the last 10-11 years at OHM-BOCES. I have tutored the NYS Math B course for 5 years as well as the current NYS Algebra I/II courses.

I enjoy the challenge of working with children. My eldest daughter is a graduate of the University of Georgia and I have two teenagers currently in Middle and high school. I started off college at Mohawk Valley Community College and earned a Liberal Arts and Science degree. I feel that all college students should be well rounded and should take a wide variety of courses. I then enrolled at Utica College to finish my BS degree. Over those two years, I took 18 science courses and most of them were accompanied by labs. It was stressful and difficult but it was something I was determined to complete.
