A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in having all my students understand that hard work and perseverance will help them achieve passing scores in my classes while exhibiting good moral conduct and behavior. My philosophy of education begins with the students being rooted in the fundamentals of their subject matter and consistently achieving higher competencies as they achieve less strindent content standards.
I hold a variety of Montana teaching edorsements: K-12 Library, 5-12 English, Broadfield Social Sciences (5-12), K-12 Physical Education and Health, and History (5-12). Over the last seventeen years I have primarily taught Language Arts and history classes at the junior high and high school level in a variety of Montana school districts and in one in Nevada. I have also been an assistant and head junior high and high school football, wrestling, and track and field coach.

A Little Bit About Me...

With a bachelor degree in biology and a follow up minor in chemistry i am well versed in both the life and physical sciences. I am broadfield science certified through the state of Montana which enables me to teach any science course 5-12. I have been a classroom teacher for the past nine years and have extensive experience using technology as a teaching tool. I am very proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
As a science educator I strive to have students build their own knowledge with my guidance. I adhere to the constructivist philosophy of education and in doing so I have designed many lessons with the inquiry approach in mind. This forces students to begin to think for themselves and allows them to take ownership over their learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated college with a BA in Human Biology, and I am currently in the transition between undergraduate school and medical school. Throughout my years as an undergrad, I have been heavily involved with teaching/tutoring students - primarily through my participation in the Peer-Led Chemistry Teacher program. As a peer teacher, I developed many skills and abilities which have allowed me to become an effective teacher. I am grateful that I have been able to use my scientific knowledge to help educate others.
I have educated both college and middle school students, and through these experiences I learned that the key to effectively teaching others is patience.
