I love creating a sense of wonder and exploration as well as critical thinking. I like to incorporate the children's interests into what it is they are trying to study. I am patient, understanding, and approachable. I believe that teachers are overworked sometimes in classroom settings and that some students get overlooked when they need a little more time to grasp a concept. Children learn in different way, and have different levels of enthusiasm for different subjects. I think that the way to encourage a child's success is to identify the ways in which the students learns best, and to understand what subjects/topics interest them. If you can relate to a child, your ability to motivate them and encourage them is amplified. I like to challenge students and to encourage them to think on their own. I believe positive reinforcement is important to children whose self-esteem might be low due to perceived lack of academic ability.
